IS THIS YOUR FIRST BUSINESS? Yes.

WHY DID YOU START THIS BUSINESS? I'm a senior citizen retired from the motion picture industry, but I'm still creative and enthusiastic, as well as youthful, active and energetic. I'm inspired at this point in my life to find rewards and fulfillment in helping others and have fun at the same time.

WHERE DID YOU GET THE IDEA? From a full-page ad in the Daily News for the Hypnosis Motivation Institute.

HOW LONG WAS IT FROM CONCEPT TO OPENING? Around a year and a half.

WHAT DID YOU DO DURING THAT TIME? More than a year of intensive study and training at HMI (Human Machine Interface) The user interface in a manufacturing or process control system. It provides a graphics-based visualization of an industrial control and monitoring system. , including six months of a clinical internship internship /in·tern·ship/ (in´tern-ship) the position or term of service of an intern in a hospital.

n the course work or practicum conducted in a professional dental clinic.
. I graduated with honors and with a steadfast belief in myself, in hypnosis and what I had to offer.

WHAT WERE YOUR STARTUP COSTS AND HOW DID YOU FINANCE THE BUSINESS? Far more than my income to date. It takes a while to be a financial success, but it only takes a moment to be a personal success after helping the first client.

WHO DID YOU RELY ON FOR ADVICE? Teachers, mentors, business professionals and my common-sense gut instincts.

WHAT HADN'T YOU CONSIDERED BEFORE OPENING? How important it is to offer incentives to prospective clients like, ``50 percent off,'' ``free telephone consultations,'' and so on.

WHAT IS YOUR EXPECTED REVENUE THIS YEAR? Closer to being in the black.

WHAT GOALS DO YOU HAVE FOR THE COMPANY? To continue to offer quality services to those in need at affordable fees.
