Riding on the success of last year's Beyond Classroom Walls conference, the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  School & Business Alliance is bringing the event back Aug. 8 to the Hyatt Valencia.

The conference will focus on issues that strengthen the link between the classroom and the workplace, make sustainable changes to the way we educate our young people, improve the quality of our future work force and examine its effect on businesses and the local economy.

The business alliance members hope this year's conference will be another dynamic and engaging community dialogue.

J.D. Hoye, the first National School-to-Work director and current president of Keep The Change Inc., will be the keynote speaker. Hoye is an advocate for the School-to-Work movement, and has helped numerous communities build educational systems that connect real education to real work.

One of the unique features of the conference is the roundtablediscussion for educators and community leaders to talk about concerns.
