WONDERWARE UNVEILS ARCHESTRA BULK IMPORT UTILITY.Wonderware, Lake Forest, Calif., a business unit of Invensys, has announced the release of the ArchestrA Bulk Import Utility 1.0. The new utility simplifies the conversion of legacy system applications to Wonderware's Industrial Application Server, which is built on the ArchestrA software architecture and improves the productivity and maintenance of industrial information and automation systems. The ArchestrA Bulk Import Utility is available at no charge for use with a Wonderware development license and the Industrial Application Server 2.1 Patch 01 or higher. "The ArchestrA Bulk Import Utility eases the process of integrating information when migrating existing manufacturing systems to those that leverage ArchestrA technology," said Steve Garbrecht, marketing program manager for Wonderware's product infrastructures and platforms. "This new utility enables customers to transform tag definition files from most existing HMIs, historians, PLCs or MES (Manufacturing Execution Software) Software that provides real time access to plant activities that include equipment, labor, orders and inventory. An MES integrates the data with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems so that management has complete control of applications into an Industrial Application Server object-oriented structure. This mapping can be performed and saved for non-Wonderware HMI (Human Machine Interface) The user interface in a manufacturing or process control system. It provides a graphics-based visualization of an industrial control and monitoring system. applications, making it an ideal upgrade and migration tool. Also, this mapping is already pre-done for InTouch users that wish to migrate to, or add on an Industrial Application Server to their existing installation.
