 - Performers and songwriters will be featured on an all-woman panel to discuss ``Voicing the Future of Women in Music: History in the Making'' at Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties.  on Saturday.

The event will include a musical showcase with performances by Anna Montgomery, who has been featured on the ``Ellen DeGeneres Ellen Lee DeGeneres (born January 26, 1958) is an American stand-up comedian, actress, and currently the Emmy Award-winning host of the syndicated talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

DeGeneres has hosted both the Academy Awards and the Primetime Emmys.
 Show'' and ``The Tonight Show''; Harriet Schock, who wrote the Grammy-nominated song ``Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady,'' and performer and producer Joan Enguita.

The three women will join Chris Hingley, organizer of the Desert Song Music Festival, for a discussion of the music industry, including the challenges women face in a male-dominated field, the move away from major record labels to independent music production, and how to balance family, career and creativity.

The event is set for 1 p.m. in the Student Center at Antelope Valley College, 3041 W. Ave AVE Avenue

It is one of several events planned by the college in recognition of Women's History Month Women's History Month is an annual declared month in the United States that highlights contributions of women to events in history. March is declared Women's History Month.

The annual event traces its beginnings to the first International Women's Day in 1911.

Montgomery's debut album, ``Lyin' in the Face of Love,'' earned her national accolades, a Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Music Award and a spot on Grammy winner Shelby Lynne's national tour.

Schock has made six solo albums, with her songs performed by a variety of artists. She is also the author of the book ``Becoming Remarkable: For Songwriters and Those Who Love Songs.''

Enguita opened her own record label and organized a tour of women musicians to raise funds for domestic-violence shelters.
