WOMEN'S WATER POLO NOTEBOOK: ALL IN THE FAMILY AT AGOURA, H.-W.

Byline: Heather Gripp Staff Writer

When Agoura High freshman Casey Flacks made her high school water polo water polo, swimming game encompassing features of soccer, football, basketball, and hockey. The object of the game is to maneuver, by head, feet, or hand, a leather-covered ball 27 to 28 in.  debut Tuesday, her mother, Dawn, dressed in the opposing team's colors and watched from the opposition's side without cheering.

Flacks' mom wasn't trying to be nonsupportive. She is assistant coach for Harvard-Westlake of Studio City, Agoura's foe in the opener.

Harvard-Westlake coaches have become a valuable source of talent for Agoura. Flacks is the second Chargers player who is the daughter of a Wolverines coach.

The Corso family was the first to deal with the split allegiance.

All-American Meghan Corso, a junior, is the daughter of Harvard-Westlake boys' coach (and former girls' coach) Rich Corso. She grew up playing on teams with members of Harvard-Westlake's boys' team and has started for Agoura since her freshman year.

Flacks' ties to Harvard-Westlake are even deeper. Her brother Brian is a junior on the Wolverines' boys' team, and he received All-Southern Section honors this season. Older sister Lindsay, an elite distance runner distance runner

Dawn Flacks also coaches Harvard-Westlake's swim team.

Casey Flacks shouldn't have a problem establishing an identity of her own. She played most of the Harvard-Westlake game and scored a goal in Agoura's 9-4 victory. She was selected first-team All-American for her performance with the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Water Polo Club in the 14-and-under division at last summer's Junior Olympics.
