WOMEN'S TOP 25: BLUE DEVILS' WILLIAMS REGAINS SCORING TOUCH.

Mistie Williams had a season-high 22 points after going scoreless in her previous game, and Alison Bales added 21 to help top-ranked Duke hold off Wake Forest 99-86 Wednesday in Winston-Salem, N.C..

All five starters scored in double figures for the Blue Devils (18-1, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who shot a season-best 59 percent to win their 16th in a row.

--No. 8 Michigan State 62, Illinois 42: Kelli Roehrig scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Champaign, Ill., and the Spartans (16-2, 5-1 Big Ten) won their fourth in a row.

--No. 10 Texas Tech 68, Nebraska 58: Chesley Dabbs scored 15 of her 21 points in the first half in Lincoln, Neb., and the Lady Raiders (14-2, 5-0 Big 12) won their eighth consecutive game.

--No. 11 Notre Dame 74, Syracuse 61: Jacqueline Batteast scored 19 points in Syracuse, N.Y., and helped the Fighting Irish (15-3, 3-2 Big East) improve its record against the Orange to 15-1 since the Irish joined the Big East in 1995-96.

--No. 20 Kansas St. 74, Texas A&M 50: Claire Coggins and Shana Wheeler scored 11 points apiece in Manhattan, Kan., and the Wildcats (13-3, 4-1 Big 12), outscored the Aggies 47-27 in the second half.

--Note: UCLA sophomore guard Noelle Quinn underwent surgery to repair cartilage in her left knee. No ligament damage was found, but Quinn, the leading scorer for the No. 25 Bruins, is expected to miss six weeks.
