``We're hungry. Last night we had a team meeting in my room and I just said, 'You know, this could very well be our last game and we don't want to put our hopes into somebody else's hands,' '' said UCLA senior point guard Nikki Blue Nikki Blue was a WNBA basketball player from 2006-2006. UCLA advances to play Arizona State (24-5) in the semifinals today at 3 p.m. The Bruins and No. 11 Sun Devils split their regular-season series, with each team winning on its home court. Cal freshman center Devanei Hampton had a game-high 23 points and 14 rebounds. But UCLA's defensive pressure kept the rest of the Golden Bears off their games. Cal led only twice, both times in the first two minutes of the game. UCLA led 39-29 at the half and went on a 17-4 run midway through the second half to extend the lead to 67-46 with 6:33 remaining. Both of UCLA's regular season games with Cal were close. The Golden Bears beat UCLA at Haas Pavilion and UCLA won 80-77 in overtime at Pauley Pavilion. After the game, Blue seemed to be in a reflective mood. She looked at Cal's talented freshman point guard, Alexis Gray-Lawson, and saw a lot of herself four years ago. Gray-Lawson and the Bears (18-11) learned the same lesson on Saturday that Blue and UCLA's five seniors have learned the hard way during the last four years. ``She told me I should be the (Pac-10 Player of the Year) in the next three years, except next year because of Noelle Quinn. ... That meant a lot,'' said Gray-Lawson, who had 14 points and a game-high nine turnovers. ``She came up to me and said, 'For the next three years, you need to show up to play every day.' '' ``This was a good learning experience for us, coming into the Pac-10 Tournament for the first time, and playing against some of the best guards in the country. We just need to play every game, 40 minutes a game.''
