The lights will dim one final time Saturday afternoon at the Sports Arena when the USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  women's basketball Women's basketball is one of the few games which developed in tandem with men's. Thursday night, in the Trojans' penultimate game here, the lights might have dimmed a bit on their postseason hopes as well as USC dropped into fifth place in the Pacific-10 Conference The Pacific-10 Conference (Pac-10) is a college athletic conference which operates in the western United States.  with a 87-79 double-overtime loss to Washington in front of 627.

USC rallied from a 13-point second half deficit, but that furious comeback seemed to take its toll. Washington outscored the Trojans 11-3 in the second overtime to pull away.

``It's do-or-die time now,'' USC junior forward Eshaya Murphy Eshaya "Shay" Murphy (born April 15 1985, in Canoga Park, California) is an American professional basketball player in the WNBA, currently playing for the Minnesota Lynx.

said. ``We needed these wins at home to give us a cushion with the road games coming up. But we can still get it done. It's just going to come down to who wants it more at the end.''

(14-9, 9-5) and a half-game ahead of California (15-8, 7-6) in the Pac-10 standings. Washington (16-6, 9-4) solidified its grip on third place.

The Pac-10 will likely send four or five teams into the NCAA Tournament NCAA Tournament can mean:

, so there is still a lot of position jockeying to be done. USC probably needs to reach 18 wins to reach the NCAA Tournament. With four regular-season games left and the Pac-10 Tournament in San Jose San Jose, city, United States

, there isn't much more room for error.

``The kids are resilient,'' USC coach Mark Trakh said. ``This won't have an effect on them. If we're good enough to beat the teams we have next, we will.''

Murphy led USC with 24 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Camille LeNoir added 20 points. Washington's Cameo Hicks had a game-high 25 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Washington out-rebounded USC 64-49, including 32 offensive rebounds. The Huskies scored 31 second-chance points to the Trojans' 14.

The Trojans ended Washington's 12-game home-winning streak Jan. 14 with a 64-61 victory in Seattle that vaulted them near the top of the conference standings. But it's been a painful month since that victory. USC has lost two starters for the season because to injury and dropped four of its past six games.

Overshadowed by the loss was another solid all-around performance from USC freshman center Nadia Parker, who had eight points, six rebounds, four blocks and three steals in 45 minutes.

The Trojans scored the first four points of overtime on baskets by LeNoir and Murphy, but allowed the Huskies to get back into it with poor defensive rebounding.

Washington forward Breanne Watson scored four consecutive second-chance layups in the overtime to rally the Huskies.
