``We lost our focus a little in the second half,'' Bonvicini said. ``But we played so well in the first half and in the last few minutes.''

``We were down by 20-something in the first half and were able to fight back to within about five. That is encouraging for us,'' said UCLA coach Kathy Olivier. ``We need to cut down on the turnovers. But the truth is, down the stretch, their turnover game became too much for us.''

The win capped a season sweep of UCLA and gave the Wildcats a school record for conference victories in a season.

``This win means a lot to the seniors. When we signed our letters of intent to play here, we made a pact to change the program,'' said Mikko Giordano, one of six Arizona seniors.

Washington 81, Washington St. 63: Jamie Redd had 21 points and 11 rebounds as the Huskies (18-9, 9-9 Pac-10) desperately tried to stay in contention for the NCAA Tournament with a victory at Seattle.

No. 11 Florida International 86, Georgia State 50: Gergana Branzova had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Golden Panthers (28-1) in the Trans America Athletic Conference An athletic conference is a collection of sports teams, playing competitively against each other at the collegiate or high school level.
