Darvish Staff WriterSAUGUS - Sheriff's investigators were looking Monday for a man suspected of breaking into a residence Sunday evening, tying up a woman and trying to force her into a car trunk before the woman was able to fight off her attacker, authorities said. A Latino man described as 30 to 40 knocked on a door about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 18400 block of Vasquez Canyon Road before forcing his way in, said Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita sheriff's station. ``He tied the woman's hands and feet and tried to put her in the trunk of her car,'' Cambra said. ``Somehow she managed to get free and she hit him with a shovel. He took off on foot.'' Sheriff's deputies on the ground and in a helicopter searched the area but did not find the attacker. The 32-year-old woman, who was home alone, described her assailant as standing 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 160 pounds, with dark brown hair. He was wearing a brown shirt and jeans. He is wanted on suspicion of attempted kidnapping and attempted rape, Cambra said. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Santa Clarita sheriff's station at (661) 255-1121.
