WOMAN DIES IN WINNETKA CROSSWALK FATALITY 3RD PEDESTRIAN DEATH.

WINNETKA - A woman hurrying through a crosswalk to flag down a bus was hit and killed by a pickup truck Thursday - marking the third pedestrian death in the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

On Tuesday, 7-year-old Destiny Driver of Van Nuys was hit and killed by a car while walking home from school on Magnolia The School on Magnolia was an alternative high school in Cleveland, Ohio. It was founded in 1971 as the Friends School in Cleveland, and its association with the Religious Society of Friends continued through 1975, at which point the board of the local Friends meeting decided that  Boulevard in Sherman Oaks about 5:40 p.m.

The driver, identified as Nama Shimoni, 30, of Encino, said she was blinded by the bright sun and did not see the girl, detectives said.

``It's a very tragic accident,'' Deaton said.

Detectives said the driver was ``very distraught'' and called the girl's parents at home to apologize. She was not cited, but detectives were investigating the collision.

The third death occurred about 7:30 p.m. Monday when a 71-year-old man crossed midblock at Burbank Boulevard and Ranchito Avenue in Van Nuys, said Detective Dwight Gillett, of the Valley Traffic Division.
