Summer D. Solesbee was pronounced dead at the scene, the Oregon State Police reported. Solesbee was driving a 1998 Hyundai sedan southbound on Highway 99 when she crossed the center line shortly after 10:30 a.m. and collided in the northbound lane with a 1999 Dodge pickup driven by Thomas Derbyshire, 57, of Cottage Grove. Derbyshire was treated at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene and released. Both drivers wore seat belts, said State Police Sgt. Scott Miller. The area of Highway 99 was closed until 2 p.m., Miller said.
