WOMAN CRASHES HER CAR INTO BUS LOADED WITH KIDS.

PALMDALE - An apparently suicidal Palmdale motorist intentionally rammed her car Tuesday morning into the side of a school bus loaded with high school students, officials said.

The woman, who survived with a bruised nose, was taken into custody and the 25 teenagers were shaken up but not injured, officials said.

``She apparently told firefighters that it was an intentional act,'' said Deputy Dave Jennings of the Palmdale sheriff's station. ``She said that she wanted to go to hell.''

The woman was being held in the Twin Towers jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon in lieu of $30,000 bail. Her name was not released.

The woman had a history of psychological disorders and was on medication but had not taken her pills for some time, deputies said.

Some teenagers were picked up by their parents. Others were checked by paramedics and transferred to another school bus, officials said.

The crash occurred just after 6:30 a.m. on Avenue R-12 near Cedrela Avenue as the bus was picking up students for Littlerock High School and R. Rex Parris Continuation High School.

The bus driver reported seeing the woman's 2004 Ford Mustang driving erratically up Cedrela Avenue and pulled the bus to the side of Avenue R-12 to wait for it to pass, officials said.

When the Mustang reached Avenue R-12, it accelerated and steered into the bus's left front corner, officials said.
