WOLTERS KLUWER ACQUIRES EMANUEL PUBLISHING CORP.


Wolters Kluwer Wolters Kluwer N.V. (Euronext: WKL) is a leading global information services and publishing company. The company provides products and services for professionals in the health, tax, accounting, corporate, financial services, legal and regulatory, and education sectors.  North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  (Chicago, IL) has acquired Emanuel Publishing Corp. (Larchmont, NY), a publisher of specialized study aids for law students. No terms of the deal were given. Emanuel will become a part of WK division Aspen Publishers (Gaithersburg, MD), a provider of legal, business and healthcare information. Wolters Kluwer was represented by Eugene Simonoff & Associates (New York New York, state, United States

Emanuel's flagship line is "The Emanuel Law Outlines," an overview of the substantive law The part of the law that creates, defines, and regulates rights, including, for example, the law of contracts, torts, wills, and real property; the essential substance of rights under law.  in core law school subjects. The company also produces "Law in a Flash," the "Professor Series" and the "Siegel's" series. Emanuel had 2000 revenues of $2 million.

Wolters Kluwer said the purchase adds to Aspen's presence in the legal education market where it currently sells casebooks, study aids and related materials for students and professors. Emanuel's legal study aids "allows Aspen to add greater depth to this important niche in the legal market," the company said.
