Nation's Premier Lottery Brand Added to WMS' Wide-Area Progressive

WMS Gaming, Inc., a subsidiary of WMS Industries, Inc. (NYSE: WMS), announced today that it has entered into a license agreement with the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) whereby WMS has secured the exclusive worldwide rights to develop, manufacture and market slot machines based on the nation's premier lottery brand, POWERBALL(R).

MUSL, owner of the POWERBALL brand, is a government-benefit, non-profit association entirely owned and operated by the member lotteries. WMS intends to develop the POWERBALL-branded slot game for commercialization on the Company's wide-area progressive (WAP) platform that is currently in submission to regulators in Nevada and Gaming Laboratories Inc. (GLI). WMS currently expects to receive approval for its WAP platform from both GLI and Nevada regulators in June 2004 and anticipates debuting the first WAP-enabled POWERBALL game at the 2004 G2E trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada in October 2004.

POWERBALL has generated over $13 billion in sales since its launch in April 1992, and in its fiscal 2003 generated over $1.8 billion in sales. Approximately $5 billion in jackpot prizes have been won plus an additional $2.8 billion in other prizes since the game's beginning in 1992. POWERBALL has significant national exposure as over 55,000 retailers sell POWERBALL tickets in 26 states, with the 27th state to be added soon. Additional exposure comes from the airing of the POWERBALL drawings on over 88 TV stations twice a week and from a weekly 30-minute POWERBALL TV Game Show taped in Las Vegas.
