WINTER BREAK AFFORDS UNIQUE CULTURAL EXCHANGE FOR RUSSIAN CIRCUS STUDENTS IN ORLANDO, FLA.

ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Four teen-age performers from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Alexey Toporischev, age 16, Andrey Ivanov, age 16, Kostya Ivanov, age 16, and Pasha Khlopatchev, age 13, will be "guest students" at Edgewater High School in Orlando.
The four boys are natives of Cheropovets, Russia, a small village located 250 miles from Moscow and perform with the Cheropovets Acrobatic Troupe touring the United States with the 123rd Edition of The Greatest Show on Earth. Throughout the two-year tour, they are instructed in high school level classes by the four certified teachers at the Little Red Circus Schoolhouse, a self-contained classroom that travels with the show. However, during their winter break in Orlando, the young men will take advantage of a unique cultural and educational opportunity to attend an American high school for the first time.
From Monday, Dec. 13, through Thursday, Dec. 16, the Russians will attend various math, science and history classes accompanied by host students from Edgewater High School who will familiarize them with American customs. The American students will be afforded the opportunity to learn more about life in the circus as well as life in the Cheropovets region of Russia.
The unique educational exchange was arranged through Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael Mekdeci.
