WINELINE NEW POCKET GUIDE HAS ALL THE INFO YOU NEED.

Byline: LARRY LIPSON

Although it's a bit too big for any of my pockets, Anthony Dias Blue's 357-page ``Pocket Guide to Wine 2007'' (Fireside Books/Simon & Schuster; $15) is a handy reference for wine novices, connoisseurs and all of us in-between.

Mainly, it will bring you up to date on the world's more important wineries. It also lists winery Web sites, allowing those who need detailed information to get it quickly online.

There are some excellent buying suggestions after each segment of alphabetically arranged winery profiles. And naturally, the largest grouping of these thumbnail listings is California, followed by France.

But Dias Blue has done his global homework, even listing wineries in India and China.

So, if you don't want to buy a wine-loving friend, relative or work colleague a bottle or two of wine again as a gift this year, consider this guide. It'll be heartily appreciated. Information: www.bluelifestyle.com.
