WINE EVENT TO FIGHT ABUSE FUND-RAISER TO HELP KIDS.

In observance of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, ``An Intimate Evening with Stag's Leap Wine Cellars'' will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 5 in the newly remodeled Manzanita manzanita: see bearberry.  ballroom at the Palmdale Cultural Center, 38350 Sierra Highway.

Stag's Leap sommelier Terry Schielke will present a portfolio of five Stag's Leap premier wines.

The wine tasting, appetizers, three entrees and dessert are offered at $50 per person.

There will also be an additional tasting of three Stag's Leap estate wines, including the hard-to-find and award-winning Cask 23 at additional cost. The Celtic group Silent Planet will entertain throughout the evening.

``As a former resident of the High Desert, I am delighted to be able to bring our world-class wines to the Antelope Valley. Stag's Leap Wine Cellars supports the Children's Center's mission and is proud to be a part of this special fund-raiser,'' said Schielke.

Proceeds will help fund the center's child abuse treatment and prevention programs, which assist more than 400 Antelope Valley families every week. For reservations or donations, call the center at (661) 949-1206.
