WILLIS CORROON APPOINTS JAMES F. DOWD AS CHAIRMAN AND CEO AT G L HODSON Stephen Crane Named Development Director of Willis Faber & Dumas

 NEW YORK, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Willis Corroon Group plc (NYSE: WCG; PSE; London) announced the appointment of James F. Dowd as chairman and chief executive of G L Hodson & Son, Inc. ("Hodson"), the group's U.S.-based (New York City) North American reinsurance intermediary.
 Dowd, a veteran of 21 years in the reinsurance industry, has been chairman and chief executive officer of Skandia America Group, a professional reinsurer. He has held key positions in a number of insurance and reinsurance industry trade associations and boards, including chairman of the Reinsurance Association of America and vice chairman of the Brokers and Reinsurance Markets Association ("BRMA").
 Stephen Crane continues as president of Hodson, and is also appointed as development director of Willis Faber & Dumas, one of the Willis Corroon Group's three principal business units. Crane will in addition be assisting the group chief executive, Richard M. Miller, in connection with a number of specific responsibilities to be announced shortly.
