WILLIAM H. KLING ELECTED TO IRWIN FINANCIAL CORPORATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 COLUMBUS, Ind., Dec. 15 /PRNeweswire/ -- Irwin Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: IRWN) announced today that William H. Kling has been elected to its board of directors.
 Kling is president of The Greenspring Company (operator of a mail order catalog company and a commercial radio network system), president of Minnesota Public Radio (a regional network of 18 public stations) and is vice-chairman of American Public Radio. He is a director of Continental Cablevision of Saint Paul, The Capital Group of American Funds, the Wenger Corporation, The Saint Paul Companies, the Minnesota Orchestra, the J.L. Foundation, the James Madison Council of the Library of Congress and The World Theater.
 Kling has previously served on the board, as a founding director, of National Public Radio. His civic awards include the Edward R. Murrow Award, Twin Cities Magazine's Citizen of the Year, and Channels Magazine's Award for Excellence.
 Kling has a degree in economics from St. John's University and did graduate work in communication arts at Boston University.
