Jack T. O'Connell (born October 8, 1951) is a California politician.
 chose Wiley as one of 35 top schools in California for the honor.

Wiley Canyon, recognized last year as a state Distinguished School, won the national nomination in part because of yearly progress on the state's standardized standardized

pertaining to data that have been submitted to standardization procedures.

``We've worked hard to make sure all students at Wiley Canyon excel, and this nomination validates our teachers' efforts,'' Principal Alexis Yannich said.

The school now must complete a comprehensive application and submit it in February to the U.S. Department of Education.
