WILDERNESS WAY OFFERS AN UNFORGETTABLE SUMMER EXPERIENCE IN ICELAND
NEW YORK, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Summer travelers to Iceland still have a chance to take a multi-dimensional adventure tour -- being offered for the first time -- that will make journeying through this intriguing country an unforgettable experience.
Wilderness Way, in conjunction with Icelandair and the Iceland Tourist Board, has put together a program, "Iceland, Jewel of the North," designed to combine highlights of Icelandic culture and the island's natural beauty. Travelers will explore the nation's capital, Reykjavik, go backpacking and glacial traversing in Skaftefell National Park, visit Grimsey island, the northern point of Iceland that lies on the Arctic Circle, and Akureyri, the northern main town, as well as Lake Myvatn, a major breeding ground for waterfowl in Europe.
During this 11-day trip from June 4 through June 14, Wilderness Way is giving travelers the opportunity to see varied natural wonders throughout this clean, fresh and open land. The region around Lake Myvtn is characterized by spectacular lava formations and colorful sulfur pools. Skaftafell National Park contains Vatnajokull, Europe's largest glacier, as well as the country's second largest birch forest.
City life offers many points of interest. Reykjavik is home to galleries, museums, theater, music clubs, opera, the symphony, concerts, and recitals, and Reykjavik's delectable dining is notable for fresh seafood and lamb dishes.
Travelers can embark on Wilderness Way's journey to Iceland from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport for $2,850, including airfare on Icelandair, accommodations, all transportation, camping gear, guide services and some meals.
For bookings, contact Wilderness Way at 914-355-2624.
