GLENDALE -- Burroughs High of Burbank running back Joe Wiggan was almost unstoppable, rushing for 226 yards on 22 carries with four touchdowns Thursday as the Indians easily defeated Crescenta Valley The Crescenta Valley is a small inland valley in Los Angeles County, California. ``Just running hard every play,'' Wiggan said of his performance. ``Just trying to show everybody. ... It was also my lineman, you know. They just came out, read the blocks, drove their feet, there's nothing else to do but run right through them, you know?''

With Wiggan's performance, he established himself as the Pacific League's No. 1 back with 862 yards so far this season.

``He was running a little extra hard today,'' Burroughs coach Keith Knoop said. ``There were some Muir (of Pasadena) guys out there,'' Knoop said. He wanted them to notice.''

The Falcons (1-5, 1-2) made a game of it in the first half, taking the lead after Burroughs (5-1, 3-0) fumbled a punt at midfield mid·field

. Rana Parsanj capped the drive with a 30-yard field goal to give the Falcons a 3-0lead with 7:20 left in the first quarter.

Wiggan then scored on a 2-yard run, and the Indians scored again when quarterback Corey Howard hit Nick Bryant for a 31-yard touchdown on a screen pass to give Burroughs a 14-3 lead going into the second.

Burroughs receiver Bryant caught seven passes for 120 yards and a score. Quarterback Howard completed 15 of 22 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
