WID selects new Board of Directors for 2004-2005.


Women In Defense recently installed its the 2004-2005 National Board of Directors. The directors include:

President: Carolyn Becraft, president of Becraft Associates, previously served as assistant secretary of the Navy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (abbrev. "ASN") is the title given to certain senior officials in the U.S. Department of the Navy. They serve as chief assistants to the Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV).  for manpower and reserve affairs and deputy assistant secretary of defense for military and community support.

Vice President: Jane Walter, senior associate of Booz Allen Hamilton Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., referred to as Booz Allen is one of the oldest strategy consulting firms in the world.[1] The firm formerly had two consulting divisions: WCB (Worldwide Commercial Business, also known as “The Commercial Side”) and WTB , leads Booz Allen's business strategy and solutions team in Lexington Park, Md., which supports the Naval Air Systems Command The Naval Air Systems Command, or NAVAIR, is the part of the United States Navy which provides materiel support for naval aircraft and airborne weapon systems, such as guided missiles. NAVAIR was established in 1966 as the successor to the Navy's Bureau of Naval Weapons (BuWeps).  and Naval Air Warfare Center The Naval Air Warfare Center was a former U.S. Navy military installation located in Warminster, Pennsylvania and Ivyland, Pennsylvania.

The U.S. Navy purchased the grounds to establish this facility from the Brewster Aeronautical Corporation following its bankruptcy in the
 Aircraft Division.

Treasurer: Cynthia Williams, senior consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton in McLean, Va., has worked in the defense sector for nearly a decade.

Secretary: Susan Warshaw Ebner, special counsel for Buchanan Ingersoll's Government Contracts Practice Group, represents clients on matters involving federal government contracting, subcontracting and teaming agreements.

HORIZONS Managing Director: Lois Brand, director of sales at the American Staffing Association The American Staffing Association was founded in 1966 to be the "voice" of the staffing industry in the United States. Its members operate more than 15,000 staffing offices nationwide and account for more than 85% of staffing industry sales. , has previously held communications, marketing, and conference planning positions with the National Community Pharmacists Association, American Helicopter Society The American Helicopter Society is a professional society in the area of vertical flight. It was formed in 1944. It gives out many awards for accomplishments in engineering in vertical flight. , Radio-Television News Directors Association The Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) is a membership organization of radio, television and online news directors, producers, executives and educators with about 3,000 members.  and Machinery Dealers National Association.

Past President: Jan Menker, director of government acquisition policy for Concurrent Technologies Corporation, has more than 25 years experience in contract management. She has held positions in major weapons systems procurement, spare parts, pricing, and research and development with the Air Force and Army.

Norma Byron, Judy Cavanaugh, and Sue Sawyer served on the 2004-2005 election's committee.
