In a continuing effort to modify programs to meet the needs of our members--new and old--the WID Board of Directors has updated the organization's vision, mission and goals. Our Vision Women In Defense, a recognized leader within the national security community, progressively promotes the advancement of women in defense and national security communities as evidenced by: * The number of members who are leaders within defense and national security organizations. * The number of members that become leaders within defense and national security organizations. * The number of quality professional-development opportunities that are afforded to our constituency. * Our contributions to related associations in which we are affiliated. * Our increased visibility and stature stature /sta·ture/ (stach´ur) the height or tallness of a person standing.stat´ural stat·ure n. Our Goals WID aspires to provide opportunities for professional development, exchange of ideas and experiences, serving the community through outreach Outreach is an effort by an organization or group to connect its ideas or practices to the efforts of other organizations, groups, specific audiences or the general public. programs, and networking with government and industry colleagues. The Horizons Foundation of WID encourages career development, provides scholarships and sponsors mentoring activities.
