WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. $10.2 MILLION GO BONDS RATED 'AAA' BY FITCH -- FITCH FINANCIAL WIRE --

 NEW YORK, Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- White Plains, N.Y.'s $10,160,000 Public Improvement (Serial) Bonds, 1993 are rated 'AAA' by Fitch. The bonds will be offered competitively on Aug. 17. White Plains's $57.3 million outstanding 'AAA' general obligation bonds are affirmed.
 White Plains possesses superior credit quality characteristics, which sustained the city throughout the recession. Dramatic growth experienced during the late 1970s and 1980s positioned White Plains as a key retail center for a large, wealthy area, as well as an important office location within Westchester County. Financial performance has been excellent, with conservative budgeting and good balances contributing to overall financial health. Debt levels are low to moderate and capital needs are modest. The credit trend is stable.
