WHINY `OTHERS' A SIGNIFICANT DISAPPOINTMENT.

Byline: Keith Marder Daily News Television Writer

If you like white whine, you may just go for ``Significant Others.''

The makers of the fabulous ``Party of Five'' have come back with their second series, but it's quite a disappointment.

Three people you won't like will appear on your television screen for an hour each week. They quit jobs, they complain about their lots in life, and they rely too much on each other.

The main character is Campbell (Eion Bailey) who, in the first episode, finds his two best friends in bed together, and learns that his brother is going to marry his ex-girlfriend.

By the end, he refuses to give the best-man toast at the wedding, instead deciding to wallow wallow

 in his self-imposed misery.

Nell (Jennifer Garner Jennifer Anne Garner[1] (born April 17, 1972) is an Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe- and SAG Award-winning American actress. She first became known for her role as CIA agent Sydney Bristow on TV's Alias. ) can't make a commitment. She quits jobs and relationships with equal ease.

That brings us to the third of the trio - Henry (Scott Bairstow Scott Hamilton Bairstow (April 23, 1970) was born in Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada to Douglas and Diane Bairstow, professional classical musicians.[1] He is an actor best known for his roles as "Newt Call" on the Lonesome Dove ) - who is also the most normal.  education to write Internet porn, he is heading for an affair with his older, married boss.

``Significant Others'' is far from great. But creators Chris Keyser and Amy Lippman can write sharp dialogue, and they have earned a few weeks to iron out the kinks.
