WHEELABRATOR TECHNOLOGIES INC. APPOINTS FOUR EXECUTIVES TO KEY POSITIONS

 HAMPTON, N.H., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Wheelabrator Technologies Inc. (NYSE: WTI) announced today the promotion of four executives to senior management posts in the environmental services company.
 John D. Sanford, currently staff vice president - finance, was named vice president and chief financial officer, replacing James E. Koenig, who remains as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of Waste Management Inc., Wheelabrator's parent company.
 Mark P. Paul, staff vice president and associate general counsel, was named as vice president and general counsel.
 Stephen P. Stanczak, currently staff vice president and associate general counsel of Wheelabrator, was appointed secretary. Paul and Stanczak succeed Herbert A. Getz, who remains as vice president, general counsel and secretary of Waste Management Inc.
 Dennis W. Alexander, vice president and deputy general counsel for Wheelabrator Environmental Systems Inc., the company's subsidiary for developing trash-to-energy, alternate energy, water/wastewater and biosolids management solutions, was named as the subsidiary's vice president and general counsel.
 John M. Kehoe Jr., president and chief operating officer, Wheelabrator Technologies, said, "The outstanding levels of skill and experience that these gentlemen represent further strengthens our ability to provide comprehensive environmental services to our customers and to continually enhance value for our shareholders."
