Of course, when we were kids, we spent hours and hours in front of the boob tube, and look how good we turned out. Might be that Web children one day will turn out to be a nation of point-and-click morons. But that's doubtful, when you consider the wealth of educational sites available to kids on the Web nowadays (as opposed to the olden old·en adj. First, there's the Interactive Frog Dissection (Netfrog) site, which takes the real-life (as it were) dead frog out of the students' hands and replaces it with a cybermodel whose dissection you can watch via downloadable QuickTime video clips. For our money, though, a better frog-dissection site is the Frog Dissection Kit, dedicated to the carving up of a frog named Fluffy. Here, you can flip the frog Flip the Frog is an animated cartoon character created by American cartoonist, Ub Iwerks. He who starred in a series of cartoons produced by Celebrity Pictures and distributed through Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 1930 to 1933. over, or view it from any angle. Teen-age boys, says Laub, hustle over to the Nintendo site, where you can find all manner of product information relating to the company's latest video games. Gender finds common ground on the remaining sites. Peeps Republic is a cyberzine devoted to the latest in youth pop culture, especially movies and music. For TV, kids' favorite spot is the Fox network's Foxworld, a springboard to further Web pages relating to ``The Simpsons,'' ``The X-Files,'' ``Melrose Place,'' ``Millennium'' and other Foxy programming.
