Rainy weather forecast for this weekend could inch Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  closer to breaking the record for wettest rainy season ever recorded, officials said Friday.

     forecasts a chance of drizzle, with highs in the mid-60s and lows in 50s and possible overnight thunderstorms thunderstorms

    The light rain forecast was a relief to officials who watched heavy winter storms damage city streets and jam freeways.

    ``It's the best thing that can happen - light rain,'' said Leland Tang, spokesman for the California Highway Patrol.

    ``I am just glad it's happening on the weekend. There's not going to be as much traffic and that means a lower incidence of traffic accidents,'' he said. Still, even with light rains, ground saturation is likely to suspend work on Kanan Road and Topanga Canyon Boulevard for at least a day.
