WESTINGHOUSE NAMES VICE PRESIDENT OF STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT

 PITTSBURGH, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard J. Hadala, 36, has been appointed vice president of strategic management for Westinghouse Electric Corporation (NYSE: WX), it was announced today by Michael H. Jordan, the company's chairman and chief executive officer.
 Mr. Hadala joins Westinghouse from McKinsey & Co., where he was a partner based in the consulting firm's Pittsburgh office.
 In making the announcement, Mr. Jordan said, "Rick Hadala brings a fresh view and years of experience in rebuilding and strengthening companies. He has worked with Westinghouse in the past and has demonstrated an acute sense and understanding of the growth strategy and steps necessary to reengineer and reposition this corporation. He is a valuable addition to the Westinghouse management team, and I welcome him."
 Mr. Hadala reports directly to Mr. Jordan and in his new position will be responsible for strategic planning and business development. He will work closely with the Westinghouse business units to help strengthen their strategic plans.
 Mr. Hadala joined McKinsey & Co. in 1984 and over the past 10 years has been responsible for helping a number of consumer and industrial clients rebuild or improve their competitive edge. Prior to McKinsey, he was a senior product manager at the Heublein division of Del Monte Specialty Foods, and from 1980 through 1983, held a number of marketing positions at Procter & Gamble.
 Mr. Hadala holds a bachelor's degree in history and government from Cornell University. He also earned an MBA in marketing from Columbia University in 1981.
 Mr. Hadala is a native of Buffalo, N.Y., where he, his wife, Susan, and their three children currently live.
