 WESTIN TO MANAGE AIRPORT HOTEL IN LOS ANGELES
 LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Westin Hotels & Resorts today


assumed management of the only 1992 AAA Four-Diamond award-winning hotel at the Los Angeles International Airport, Westin announced.
 This 750-room meeting and convention hotel, adjacent to the Los Angeles International Airport, has been managed by Stouffer Hotels and Resorts since its opening in 1986.
 "Our guests now have Westin hotels to serve them at airports in Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles," said Jim Treadway, president of Westin North America. "We have been looking for the strongest opportunity near the Los Angeles Airport for some time and are delighted this outstanding property is now available," he said.
 The Westin Hotel, Los Angeles Airport, is located one mile east of the Los Angeles International Airport, 18 miles from downtown Los Angeles and 11 miles from Beverly Hills and Century City. It provides extensive meeting and convention facilities including 46,000 square feet of meeting space with 42 meeting and banquet rooms including the 13,500-square-foot Grand Ballroom and the 4,200-square- foot Concourse Ballroom. The hotel also provides an audio/visual theatre measuring 2,600 square feet with 208 seats.
 Bodo Lemke has been named managing director of The Westin Hotel, Los Angeles Airport. He most recently served as managing director of The Algonquin in New York. His career with Westin spans 31 years and includes positions as general manager and managing director at The Westin Hotel, Copley Place in Boston, The Westin Hotel, Scandinavia in Copenhagen, Denmark, and the Century Plaza Hotel and Tower in Los Angeles. Other management positions within the hotel will be announced shortly.
 "As the pace of business accelerates in the '90s, we're confident Westin's level of service and hospitality will be preferred by the many travelers who conduct business in Los Angeles and are seeking quality airport facilities," Lemke said. "The Westin Hotel, Los Angeles Airport joins a strong network of seven other well-known Westin properties in California including the Century Plaza Hotel & Tower and The Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, The Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, The Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, The Westin Hotel, Santa Clara, The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco and The Westin Hotel, San Francisco Airport. Westin also provides the added dimension of an international presence in Asia, Europe and the Americas," he said.
 The 12-story hotel provides 47 suites including 21 luxury suites with private outdoor patios and hot tubs. Twenty-one rooms are equipped for handicapped use and three floors of rooms have been designated non- smoking. Each guest room features remote-control televisions, in-room movies, stocked mini-bars, refrigerators, hair dryers, two telephones and desks. Complimentary coffee service and newspaper is delivered to all guest rooms each morning.
 The Executive Club floor features all the amenities found in standard guest rooms plus a private concierge service and express check- in and check-out. These rooms also include televisions and telephones in the bathroom and added personal amenities. Executive Club guests have access to a lounge which provides complimentary continental breakfasts, beverages and snacks at certain times throughout the day and evening.
 The hotel has two restaurants including Trattoria Grande, featuring northern Italian cuisine in an intimate setting and Charisma Cafe, which is open on a 24-hour basis and offers continental cuisine in a less formal atmosphere. The distinctive Lobby Court Bar features nightly entertainment, and 24-hour room service is also provided.
 Guests may also enjoy use of an outdoor heated pool and hot tub, complimentary indoor fitness center complete with a sauna, locker rooms, eight Nautilus machines, five Lifecycle aerobic trainers, sit-up boards and a leg lift machine.
