WESTIN TO MANAGE, RENOVATE BUSINESS HOTEL IN SANTA CLARA, CALIF.
 SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 3 /PR Newswire/ -- Westin Hotels & Resorts announced today it has assumed management of a 500-room business and convention hotel in Santa Clara, Calif., formerly managed by Doubletree Hotels. An extensive renovation program is scheduled to commence immediately.
 "This hotel provides our customers an additional high-quality, well-located Westin property in this important Silicon Valley business region," said Jim Treadway, president of Westin North America.
 The Westin Hotel, Santa Clara is part of a business complex that includes the 240,000-square-foot Santa Clara Convention Center and the 300,000-square-foot Techmart, a marketing center for high technology product exhibits. Conveniently located in the heart of the Silicon Valley in northern California, The Westin Hotel, Santa Clara is close to the San Francisco International and San Jose International airports.
 James C. Mogush has been appointed general manager of The Westin Hotel, Santa Clara. Mogush most recently served as general manager of The Westin Tai Ping Yang in Shanghai, China and has held management positions at other Westin properties in Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, Singapore, Houston, Chicago, Stamford, Conn., and Buckhead, Ga.

"The Westin Hotel, Santa Clara proudly joins six other well-known Westin properties in California which include the Century Plaza Hotel & Tower and The Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, The Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, The Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco and The Westin Hotel at the San Francisco airport.
 Westin has begun a three-year, multimillion-dollar renovation of the hotel. Major areas to be enhanced include the meeting facilities, the main lobby, guest rooms and restaurants.
 The hotel is well-equipped with 25,000 square feet of meeting facilities including two ballrooms, both of which divide into smaller meeting rooms. In addition, five conference rooms, a board room and a 60-seat, acoustically perfect learning theatre for audio/visual presentations complete the hotel's meeting space.
 A business center at the hotel provides secretarial services for guests. Also available are laser printers, PC and laptop computers, modems, cellular phones, portable tape recorders and audio/visual equipment. Guests can access other special services including speaker phones, same-day film processing and marketing and creative consulting.
 The Executive Club floor provides a private lounge, concierge services and extra amenities including complimentary breakfast and lounging robes. The hotel also houses 20 suites complete with conference tables and chairs.
 Fitness and recreation facilities at the hotel include an exercise center, a heated outdoor pool and a whirlpool. Additional recreation and entertainment options are located nearby including the Santa Clara Golf and Tennis Club, the Great America Theme Park and wine vineyards in the Santa Clara Valley.
