WESTERN DIVISION ROUNDUP: GRIFFIN SPARKS CHAMINADE'S EASY VICTORY.

Chaminade (8-3) found the end zone on its first three possessions, highlighted by Aubrey Smith's touchdown catches of eight and 33 yards. Smith finished with eight receptions for 160 yards and three touchdowns.

Lynwood (5-6) responded with a four play, 84-yard drive, capped by a 4-yard touchdown run by Darrel Robinson, to cut the lead to 18-7.

However, Lynwood would get no closer as the Chaminade defense stifled sti·fle 1

Griffin engineered an 11-play, 66-yard drive, connecting with Kevin Pillar on a 21-yard touchdown strike to extend the lead to 25-7 with 1:26 left in the first half.

Donyae Coleman finished with 180 yards rushing on 17 carries for Lynwood, which continued to struggle in the second half, crossing midfield only once. The Knights committed five fumbles.

Highland 28, Leuzinger 7: Highland of Palmdale's Kevin Bevans had a hand in all four of the Bulldogs' touchdowns, throwing for three and rushing for another in the victory over visting Leuzinger of Lawndale.

St. Francis (6-5) started out strong, thanks to threefourth-down conversions on the game's opening drive, which lasted the entire firstquarter. Neil Favor kicked a 27-yard field goal as time expired to put St. Francis up 3-0.

After going into halftime with only a 7-3 lead, Culver City found its offense in the second half, scoring four times on drives of more than 70 yards.
