 TO FOOTE, CONE & BELDING/CHICAGO
 CHICAGO, July 31, -- Foote, Cone & Belding/Chicago today announced that it has been selected to be the new full-service agency for Wesley-Jessen's Durasoft contact lenses. The relationship commences immediately.
 "Wesley-Jessen is already one of the most respected names in eye care products, with aggressive plans for the future," said Mitchell Engel, executive vice president and managing director of FCB/Chicago. "We are excited and gratified to be selected as its marketing partner."
 The decision follows an extensive three-month competitive review involving nine major New York and Chicago advertising agencies in an initial strategic assignment with three finalists competing in a creative "shoot-out."
 A division of Madison, N.J.-based Schering-Plough, Wesley-Jessen is a leading manufacturer and marketer of soft contact lenses. Based in Chicago, the company pioneered and introduced the contact lens decades ago, and is active in the research and development of new contact lenses. Wesley-Jessen's products include the DuraSoft 3 Colors, the world's leading soft lens that changes eye color.
 Foote, Cone & Belding ranks as the eighth largest marketing communications company worldwide and the largest in the United States.
