WENDY'S NAMES JOHN WRIGHT PRESIDENT, INTERNATIONAL DIVISION

 DUBLIN, Ohio, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- John Wright has been named president of the international division for Wendy's International, Inc. (NYSE: WEN).
 Wright brings 21 years foodservice industry experience to Wendy's including an extensive background in general management and international business primarily with PepsiCo. He also has considerable restaurant operations experience gained in various mid- and senior-level management assignments.
 Wright began his international career in the early 1980s when he served as vice president, Europe, Africa and the Middle East for Pizza Hut. Strategn? development, modernization of existing restaurants and new restaurant development were top priorities.
 His success in building an international business -- from 13 units to more than 250 in five year's time -- led to a promotion in 1987 to national vice president of operations - East for Taco Bell. Most recently, Wright was responsible for running the 1000-unit southern region for Pizza Hut.

"We believe he is the right person at the right time to oversee international operations and strategic planning, while directing Wendy's international expansion and development efforts."
 A 1970 graduate of the University of Delaware, Wright has also worked in operations positions with Gino's, Arthur Treacher's and Isley's.
 Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers Restaurants were founded in 1969 by R. David Thomas, who named the chain after one of his daughters. Wendy's has more than 4,100 restaurants worldwide -- including 375 stores in 32 countries outside the U.S. -- with annual systemwide sales of nearly $4 billion.
