WELLS FARGO BANK PLANS STAGECOACH PARADE DOWN CAPITOL MALL

April 21 Parade to Precede Grand Opening of Wells Fargo Center,
 History Museum, Sacramento Main Office
SAN FRANCISCO, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- A parade of seven stagecoaches will lead off the April 21 grand opening celebration for Wells Fargo Center, Sacramento's tallest building, and its Wells Fargo history museum and Sacramento Main office.
This will be the first time that all seven of Wells Fargo's parade coaches will be brought together for one occasion.
The noontime parade down Capitol Mall is the major public event being planned to mark the opening of the museum, branch office and Wells Fargo Center, the 30-story office building at 400 Capitol Mall developed by Wells Fargo Bank's Crocker Properties subsidiary and William Wilson & Associates.
Visitors to Capitol Mall will be invited to tour the museum and the bank's Sacramento Main office in the new building. The branch was relocated March 30 from 500 Capitol Mall.
"Everybody's invited to join us on April 21," said Andy Anderson, Wells Fargo's chief historian and organizer of the upcoming events. "The unusual sight and sounds of four-horse teams pulling seven stagecoaches should be fun for adults and children alike," Anderson continued.
The oldest of the seven stagecoaches is an authentic Abbott- Downing Concord coach built by Yankee craftsmen during the 1860s. Wells Fargo originally used it to transport up to 18 passengers and goods between Salt Lake City and Sacramento.
Sacramento Mayor Anne Rudin and Wells Fargo President Paul Hazen will be among the dignitaries who officially open Wells Fargo Center at a brief ceremony following the parade.
