WEIRTON STEEL ISSUES ANNOUNCEMENT

 WEIRTON, W.Va., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Weirton Steel Corporation (NYSE: WS) announced today it had sold $140 million of its Senior Notes due 1998 in a public offering.
 The senior notes, underwritten by Lehman Brothers, Lazard Freres & Co., and Salomon Brothers Inc, will bear interest at 11-1/2 percent per year. Delivery of the notes is scheduled for March 4, 1993.
 Proceeds from the issue will be used, together with cash on hand, to repay existing bank and other institutional debt.
