WEIRD AL'S "ALAPALOOZA" ARRIVES IN STORES OCT. 5

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Scotti Brothers Records is gearing up for the Oct. 5 release of "Alapalooza" the latest outing from the King of Pop (Parodies), "Weird Al" Yankovic.
The album will feature several spoofs from some of today's hottest music stars as well as the first single, "Jurassic Park," a dino-sized send-up of Steven Spielberg's box office blockbuster set to the tune of the Jimmy Webb classic, "MacArthur Park."
All parties involved including Spielberg, Webb, author Michael Crichton and Universal Pictures have given their collective seal of approval to both the song and the highly anticipated video, which is currently in production.
"It was a real treat for me to work on this 'Jurassic Park' project," Yankovic says of his new release. "I can't wait to see the movie."
"Alapalooza" which has remained a closely guarded secret until now, will also include parodies of Aerosmith ("Livin' in the Fridge"), country crooner Billy Ray Cyrus ("Achy Breaky Song") and The Red Hot Chili Peppers ("Bedrock Anthem"), the Yankman's tribute to America's favorite Stone Age family.
The album also features "Bohemian Polka," an accordion-ized version of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" that would surely make Wayne and Garth hurl.
Among the original tracks featured on "Alapalooza" are "Frank's 2000 TV," Yankovic's satire on the ultimate American dream; "Traffic Jam," the Weird One's antidote for the commuter gridlock blues; and a brand new song for E! Entertainment's most popular program, "Talk Soup."
The follow up to last year's mega-hit "Off the Deep End," "Alapalooza" is a planet-splattering, mind-blowing musical experience that heralds the dawn of the Pre-Hysteric Age.
