WEEKEND FESTIVALS.


Celebrate summer at this year's Ventura County Fair. The event will feature fair rides, food, musical entertainment and various agricultural exhibits. The event includes the first Mutton Bustin' Competition at the Free Flying U Rodeo on Aug. 11. The fair takes place 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. weekends through Aug. 12 at Seaside Park in Ventura. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors 62 and over and children 6 to 12, free for children 5 and under. (805) 648-3376. www.seasidepark.org.

Salvadoran Day: featuring cultural music, children's activities and free games. Also features a youth soccer match and the Salvadoran Classic soccer game. 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Exposition Park and the Coliseum, 3980 Menlo Ave., Los Angeles. Camarillo Art & Jazz Festival: featuring music by well-known jazz and Dixieland artists including the David Sanborn Group. Gala opening 5 p.m. today at Studio Channel Islands, California State University, Channel Islands. 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Old Town Camarillo on Ventura Boulevard and Dizdar Park, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Camarillo Ranch on Friday, free for all of Saturday and $45 to $150 for Sunday. Children's Festival of the Arts: featuring entertainment by well-known children's entertainers including Greggy Dee and Bob Baker Marionettes marionette: see puppet., cultural dancing, arts and crafts and more. Taste in San Pedro: featuring food and wine from a variety of local restaurants, musical entertainment, a ferris wheel, moon bounce, a giant slide, face painting, arts and crafts and more. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Point Fermin Park at Gaffey and Paseo Del Mar avenues, San Pedro. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, military and children ages 4 to 17, free for children under 3. Food, drink and other events range from one to four ``Taste Tickets'' ($1 each).
