More weekend time at the fair

The annual L.A. County Fair is back for another round, and it's trying something a little different this year. The fair returns Friday to the Fairplex for an 18-day run and has adjusted its days to give guests more weekend time to visit. This year's offerings include SportsFest!, a tribute to American sports; the Flower and Garden Pavilion; America's Kids/Education Expo with a Time Machine theme; the Millard Sheets Millard Owen Sheets (1907-1989) was an American painter and an important representative of the California School of Painting. Millard Sheets was a native California artist who grew up in the Pomona Valley near Los Angeles.

L.A. GREEK FEST 2005: Foods of Greece, traditional dancing, arts and crafts arts and crafts, term for that general field of applied design in which hand fabrication is dominant. BAJA SPLASH CULTURAL FESTIVAL: Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month Hispanic Heritage Month''' is a period to recognize the contributions of Hispanic Americans to the United States and to celebrate Hispanic heritage and culture. The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald  with an underwater twist at the Aquarium of the Pacific's fourth annual festival. Interactive programs, storytelling, folklorico and Aztec dancers, music, food, crafts and artisans. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
