Celebrate the festive Jewish holiday

A Jewish holiday or Jewish Festival is a day or series of days observed by Jews as a holy or secular commemoration of an important event in Jewish history.
 of Purim with a new twist at the Chabad Hawaiian Purim Luau. While keeping the Purim spirit alive, the event will feature Hawaiian cuisine, drinks and a variety of luau- and Purim-related customs.

Masquerade in traditional Purim attire as Queen Esther and Mordecai, or wear your favorite Hawaiian lei and a grass skirt. Performances will include Wendy's Wildlife Parrot Show, a poi poi, slightly fermented, sticky food paste eaten in the Pacific islands, usually accompanied with meat, fish, or vegetables. It is made by grinding or pounding the roasted, peeled roots of the taro.

The event takes place 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Chabad of Conejo, 30345 Canwood St., Agoura Hills. Megillah readings will also take place 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Purim in the Jungle: featuring a jungle buffet, a Purim story with slide show, a costume contest and more. 4 p.m. Sunday at Stewart Hall at Temescal Gateway Park, Pacific Palisades Palisades, cliffs along the west bank of the Hudson River, NE N.J. and SE N.Y., extending from N of Jersey City, N.J., to the vicinity of Piermont, N.Y., with a general altitude of from 350 ft to 550 ft (107–168 m). . Temple Isaiah's Purim Carnival: featuring Gwendolyn and the Goodtime Gang, festival foods, games rides and more. Concert starts at 10 a.m. Festival takes place 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Temple Isaiah, 10345 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles. www.templeisaiah.com.
