Italy comes to the Grove

The Feast of San Gennaro The Feast of San Gennaro, originally a one-day religious commemoration, is now an 11-day street fair beginning on the second Thursday in September in the Little Italy area of Manhattan as an annual celebration of Italian culture and the Italian-American community.  L.A. kicks off tonight at the Grove at Farmers Market.  and Adam Carolla Adam Carolla (born May 27, 1964) is an American comedian, comedy writer, radio personality, television personality and actor. Carolla achieved fame for several broadcast stints: Co-host of the radio show Loveline  that begins at 5 p.m. The gala will feature a tribute to Italian jazz legends Louis Prima and Keely Smith performed by Smith and Buddy Greco. Other scheduled artists include Tony Orlando and Dean Martin's daughter Deana Martin.

The festival will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The festival is free of charge and tickets range from $100 to $250. The Grove is at Grove Drive between Beverly Boulevard and Third Avenue, Los Angeles. The main entrance to the festival is on Beverly Boulevard. (877) 832-1418; www.feastofla.org.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY FAIR The Los Angeles County Fair (also called simply the L.A. County Fair) is an annual event held in the Fairplex in Pomona, California, held every September. It is a carnival with rides, merchants, food vendors, cooking contests, and livestock. The 2007 L.A. : featuring fun, food, concerts and rides. Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays, 10 a.m. to midnight Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays; through Oct. 2. Admission is $5 to $15. GLENDALE ADVENTIST MEDICAL CENTER'S 100TH BIRTHDAY PARTY: The hospital will celebrate its centennial with clowns, food, fun activities and special attractions for the family. Event will also feature a meet-and-greet with former Dodger Ron Cey, the Team Blue Street Team, Radio Disney Street Team, the Wave 94.7 Radio Street Team and a chance to win souvenirs autographed by Eric Gagne.
