WEEKEND FESTIVALS ONCE MORE INTO THE BREACH.

Whales began their annual migration south two months ago, and this weekend a flotilla of the large marine mammals marine mammals

More than 50 of the leviathans pass by Dana Point daily at this time of year, so it's no stretch to suggest there will almost certainly be whale sightings.

The 33rd Festival of Whales, taking place over the next two weekends, includes daily whale watching Whale watching is the practice of observing whales and other cetaceans in their natural habitat. During its annual 5,000-mile migration from Alaska, the 35-ton California gray whale splashes past the area on its way to Baja. Dana Point Harbor is one of the prime locations on the West Coast to witness this phenomenon.

FESTIVAL OF WHALES: Dana Point Harbor, Golden Lantern and Dana Point Harbor Drive, and Dana Point Town Center, Laguna Beach. Saturday, Sunday and March 13-14.
