 WEBSTER ELECTED TO ANHEUSER-BUSCH COMPANIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 ST. LOUIS, Nov. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- William H. Webster, former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency and currently a partner in the Washington law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, was today elected to the board of directors of Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. (NYSE: BUD).
 "Judge Webster has compiled a record as one of our nation's most distinguished public servants, filling several positions that require the utmost in intelligence and integrity," August A. Busch III, chairman of the board and president of Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc., said today in announcing Judge Webster's election. "We are extremely pleased that he has agreed to join us."
 Judge Webster served as U.S. District Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri from 1960 to 1961, returning to private practice prior to being appointed to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri in 1970. Three years later, he was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He resigned in 1978 to become director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and in 1987 was appointed director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
 In addition to his position with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, Judge Webster currently sits on the board of Maritz, Inc. A native of St. Louis, Judge Webster received his bachelor of arts degree from Amherst College and his juris doctor degree from Washington University Law School. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy in World War II and in the Korean War.
 Judge Webster fills the position of Lewis T. Preston, who left the Anheuser-Busch board to become president of the World Bank. Judge Webster's appointment is effective in December, and his term will expire in April 1993.
