WEBER EXPANDS DIGITAL LINE WITH STEREO SAMPLED MODEL.THE WEBER DIGITAL PIANO line has been expanded with the new WD 960, an 88-note model featuring 128 stereo sampled sound, 106 auto-accompaniment rhythm styles with 106 variations, and a new hammer weighted keyboard. "Standout features on this model include considerably more style features than its predecessor, a greatly improved grand piano style action, and Karaoke functions with readout and separate mic volume and controls," remarked David Skidmore, national sales manager. He continued, "Weber digital piano sales increased exponentially in 1999 and the trend is continuing with new sales promotion programs introduced at NAMM. We also have a new service center for warranty service and technical support for all our digital products." At the heart of the WD 960 is a unique stereo sampling tone generation system that faithfully reproduces the true tonal colors of acoustic instruments. A Dual Voice function allows the users to layer two sound files for greater versatility. Extensive effects are also included allowing users to recreate the atmosphere of a large concert hall or intimate club. "Our engineers have put together a remarkable accompaniment section with pre-programed basic loops plus variations, intros, endings and fill-ins. There are also three levels of auto-accompaniment mode designed for use by beginners and pros alike," added Skidmore. For the player that craves the feel of a real acoustic piano, the Weber WD960 has an action that is the result of over a century of experience building fine grand pianos. According to Skidmore, the HWT Keyboard action provides the touch, resistance, response and feel of a grand piano. The WD 960's easy-to-use 16 track recorder offers full multitrack recording capabilities with storage on a built-in 3.5" floppy disk. The recorder is joined by a Karaoke section that allows the player to mute one of more melody tracks during playback and display lyrics on a large LCD screen.
