He added it will improve the flow of communication between the bond committee and the public.

The Simi Valley Unified School District A unified school district is a school district which includes both primary school (kindergarten through middle school or junior high) and high school (grades 9-12). In Illinois, these districts are called unit school districts.  in conjunction with the citizens committee responsible for overseeing the expenditure of bond money for the construction, repair and modernization of schools are developing the site.

The district hired a firm to work on the site for about $10,000, and it is being paid for out of the general fund, said Lowell Schultze, associate superintendent of business and facilities.

The content will be determined by the committee, allowing its members to better communicate with the public, Cohen said.

District staff will provide updates as necessary.

``We hope the Web site allows the average citizen to see what we're doing and get some insight into the planning,'' said school board member Greg Stratton.

``The Web site should give people some access to look at what's going on What's Going On is a record by American soul singer Marvin Gaye. It's part of the process of making sure the public is aware of what we're doing with the bonds.''

``Anything that helps the committee inform the public about the expenditures of bond funds should be encouraged,'' said Jacobsen, who has a son enrolled at Wood Ranch Elementary. ``The Web site will be most effective if the oversight committee is active in identifying the information that is included and if the district office provides them with relevant information in a timely manner.''
