WEB SITE CARRIES NEW CHINESE LAWS AND REGULATIONS.Isinolaw Research Center (Hong Kong) has launched isinolaw.com, a new bilingual (Chinese and English), subscription Web site that is designed to publish all new laws and regulations enacted on the national, provincial and local levels. Individual subscriptions and site licenses are available. The site has official PRC sanction. Currently, the site has posted 70,000 laws in the original Chinese with 5000 translated into English. IRC said it intends to have an additional 5000 laws translated by the end of the year. The site is divided into categories, some of which are still under construction, including securities and finance law, Chinese WTO obligations, intellectual property law, science and technology law, and court judgments and interpretations. A "due process" section, also under construction, is being designed to deal with the fractiousness of current Chinese procedural laws. The company hopes to develop a "credible checklist" for due process, although such a check-list is potentially "hazardous" because of the varied application of the law across China. IRC hopes to publish 10 to 20 cases "regularly" in both Chinese and English. IRC said the site "is the second most reliable guide" to new Chinese laws, and the most reliable before the laws are officially published in English. The site also includes a database of lawyers practicing in China. |
