WEATHERFORD INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF TWO CORPORATE OFFICERS
 HOUSTON, Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Philip Burguieres, president and chief executive officer of Weatherford International Incorporated (AMEX: WII), announced today the election of two corporate officers.
 David M. Johnson has been elected executive vice president of the company. Johnson, 53, has been president of Petroleum Equipment Tools Co. ("PETCO"), a subsidiary of Weatherford since a merger on Nov. 19, since its formation in 1967 and will continue to manage the PETCO operations. Johnson has been a director of Weatherford since Nov. 19. Johnson is a graduate of University of Houston with a BS degree in business administration.
 James R. Burke has been elected senior vice president, corporate development and marketing of the company. Burke, 53, has been an independent management consultant since 1989 and previously was vice president of corporate development at Cameron Iron Works, Inc., from 1983 to 1989. He previously held various manufacturing positions. Burke is a graduate of University College, Dublin, Ireland, with a BS degree in electrical engineering and a graduate of Harvard Business School with an MBA degree.
 Weatherford is a diversified international energy service and manufacturing company that markets specialty equipment and provides technical services used in oil and gas exploration and development. Weatherford trades on the AMEX under the symbol WII.
