WEAN INCORPORATED'S EXCHANGE OFFER EXPIRES

 PITTSBURGH, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The New York Stock Exchange has requested that Wean Incorporated (NYSE: WID) announce that the exchange offer with respect to its 5-1/2 percent convertible subordinated debentures expired on March 1, 1993, and the offer will not be extended.
 The company also announced today that all previously tendered debentures will be returned to the holders.
